Re: Burned vacant house - south of 4620 Lower Wyandotte, Croville AP# 36-07-3-23
NOTICE OF CORRECTION OF SUBSTANDARD STRUCTURE
Dear. Mr.. and Mrs. Orrick:
This department has received a complaint alleging health and safety hazards in an
abandoned fire damaged dwelling at the above listed location:: The Butte County
Assessor's records indicate you are the owners of the property.
On March 3, 1981, I visited the site and made a visual observation of the exterior
of the building. I did not enter the structure. The following conditions were
observed which are in violation of the California Housing Law 4egulations and the
- California Health arid. Safety Code, and which render the structure substandard and.
unsafe for human habitation:
1. The structure exhibits fire damage to the exterior walls and roof structure on
the south and west end.
2. All windows and doors are broken, deteriorated, or missing, and the roof covering,
sheathing and supports are fire datae;ed or deteriorated, so the entire structure
lacks weatherproofing.
3. Electrical wiring, fixtures, receptacles, and. panels are fire dama8ed or deter-
iorated.
11. Interior supports, walls, ceilings and floors, observed through the windows are
in deteriorated, burned or vandalized condition.'
The entire structure appears to be dar.aged to such an. extent that.complete demolit-
ion is indicated. I am recommending demolition and removal of the structure within:
THIRTY (30) DAYS. You may wish to contact the E1 Medio Fire District (533-4484)
or the Falerrr:o rise Station (534-45t-5) to determine if.they may be interested in
burning down the structure for practice. The adjoining; fire damaged shed should
also be demolished and removed. Any abandoned septic tank and/or seepage pit.shall
be 'backfilled with sand, gravel or so_1 to eliminate any hazard of cave in.
P.l.ease complete demolition and removal of the structures within THIRTY (30) DAYS
unless additional time for removal is granted by this department.
If' you have any questions, please contact me at the above listed address or telephone
number.
Very truly yours,.
