In view of the precedent the Board set when it authorized the issuance of.
-,a permit in Paradise Pines while property owners were applying for the
abandonment of an easement, I am doing the same.thing for Mr. Warren Ambrose
at Carriage Manor Subdivision.
In this particular case the resident was moved in and practically set up
before we were aware that there was a problem.with the five-foot setback
easement and the residents.are arriving momentarily from southern California.
I believe it is best to proceed in the manner which the Board authorized
at Paradise Pines.
Mr. Ambrose or his contractor will be petitioning to.abandon four or five
feet of easement and understands that should the easement not be abandoned;
the permits would not be valid and other arrangements would have to be made
:to bring the situation into compliance with easements, set backs, etc.
I looked at the site and believe that Mr. Ambrose is doing the right thing
at'this particular time for the convenience of the resident involved.'

Attached is a copy of my letter to the Board of Supervisors which explains
that I am instructing the Building Department to issue the permit for Lot 16
in Carriage Manor subject to an immediate application for abandonment of at
least four feet of the easement at the front yard setback and that everyone
understands.that should this easement not be granted that other means would
have,to be made for full compliance with all setbacks, easements and whatever.
I also agree with the Building Department that the contractor in question
should pay whatever appropriate penalties are involved since the building
was moved in and set up in some manner prior to the building permit applica-
tion.
As soon as this letter is typed for you with a copy to the'Building Department
I will ask it to issue your permits on payment of fees if everything else is
in order and again I indicated to you that I would'do exactly as you are doing
in this circumstance and we will join you in making the best of a situation
that we both might like otherwise..
