PUBLIC HEARINGS Abandonment of Public Utility Easement and Light The hearing was opened to the public. Owen Cole stated that it was his understanding that he could move his mobile home onto the property before utility conversion is completed so long as he doesn't occupy it. Commissioner Lambert suggested a change in the wording of the condition_ of approval to reflect this, and Mr. Cole agreed. BUTTE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES - October 8, 1987 Page 3 Staff pointed out that this mobile is to be placed over an underlying subdivision lot line, but that as long as the County has Mr. Cole's assurance that he will not occupy the mobile, we are in a better position to challenge him if he doesn't comply. Staff added that in the past the Department of Public•Works had issued development permits disregarding underlying subdivision lot lines, but they will no longer do so. Mr. Cole happened to get caught in the change of procedure. Mr. Cole asked if he could move furniture in; staff replied that actual occupancy is the County's only concern. It was moved by Commissioner Peabody and seconded by Commissioner Lambert to find this abandonment in conformity with the General Plan, subject to the following: condition: 1. Steve Streeter, Senior Planner, County of Butte, announced to the Commission that he is moving to the City of Poway in San Diego County to accept the position as Assistant Director of Planning Services for this city of 40,000 which was incorporated in 1980. Mr. Streeter has been with Butte County for 10 years, the last 6-1/2 with the Butte County Planning Department. Chairman Walter stated the 'Commission would miss Mr. Streeter, and .expressed their appreciation for his having done the Zoning Code and gotten it to the Board of Supervisors. Commissioner Forbes requested that the minutes reflect the Commission's congratulations, good wishes and thanks.
