On Friday, May 25, 1980 I conducted an archaeological reconnaissance of two properties located within Butte County. They are as followst I F.W. Case Corporation - AP#47-23-55 approximately 22 acres o an located adjacent to the south side of Cohasset Hwy., approximately 1.5 miles northeast of the intersection with Keefer Road, north of Chico. The property lies in the SJ of the NW} of Section 13, T. 23 N., R. i E., Richardson Springs Quadrangle, 7.5' series. The proposed project is for a use permit for a rock quarry. The property is along the rim of Cohasset Ridge with an oak -grassland type of vegetation. James & Joan Dutro - AP#56-14-23/ERD Log #80-03-10-04 approximately 7.7 acres of land located adjacent to the east =r' side of Cohasset Highway, approximately 3/4 miles north of ..i the intbrsection with Vilas Road, north of Cohasset. The property lies in the SE} of the NE} of Section 27, T. 24 N., R. 2 E., Paradise Quadrangle, 15' series. The proposed project is to divide the property into three parcels. The property has a gentle slope along either side of Anderson Fork, which runs through the western portion of the property. The property contains one single family residence and is covered by a Foothill Woodland type of vegetation. Prior to my reconnaissance of the above properties I consulted the archaeolo ical site record files maintained at California State University, Chico to determine if any known archaeo- logical sites were located on either of the properties.
