,Attention .Mr. Pee Chan
GentlemeAx
It has come to our attention that in the process of
transporting gravel and cobble fill material Jrom the area
southwest of Oroville to the new Feather River ]lam there will,
at. necessity, be a railroad crossing of our highway, road III-
Rra tM21-:
Xt is our understanding, that there are ?roposed trains full.
of gravel, iuoving over this line- every 20 minutes for 20 hours a,
day during the next S years. This would mean as► a practical course
that there would be empties moving backp resuiting in an average
train movement across the highway every ,l0 minut,es for this period
of time. Such disruption of normal highway traffic on the Richvale
Lateral is not in the best interests of the traveling public,
Consequently, this office would not recommend any crossing of
Highway 21, by said railroad at grade. We 'would not be adverse to
ssuing a permit for the railroad crossing of the Richvale Latera.
go Arither over or under 'the existing highway.
Very truly yours
