I DISCUSSION OIC` CNVTRONMENTAL EVALUATION
This project is a proposed amendment to the Land Use Map of the Butte
County General Plan for a, strip of land along the Esplahade (2.8 miles
long) from Lassen Avenue to the intersection with Highway gg F. north
of Chico, and the rezoning of the Subject land to appropriate zoning
di sari cts . The _proposed al terati un In land use designations is from low
density residential and from agricultural., orchard and field crops to
commercial and industrial designations primarily with some small areas
of low -density and medium density residential as illustrated. on the
project map. The commercial delionation will lie on both sides of the,,#
Esplanade in the southern portion of the area; and from just aouth of
Nord Highway north to lei ghway . gg y the designation will be on the east
side of the Esplanade only. Approximately 250 acres of land are in.
