As you know, I months ago the Planning Commission
conducted pr+;,, r.minary public hearings on land Use plan
map propQ als which were predicated on the existing
General Plan 'Text. Subsequent to these hearings, several:
proposals were forwarded to Envirohmental Review for
examination.
Due to revision of the County's land use, element, however,
which proposes new: guidelines and policies for managing
future growth, the homology of this new document with
previous land 'use If proposals remains uncertain.. This
subject was recently introduced to the Planning Comthistidii
including, the potential conflicts involved betweefi 'old'
map proposals and 'new' policy and category text provisions.
After considerable discussion, the planning Commission
elected to postpone further consideration of previous map
Proposals. Therefore, please be advised that the following
map proposals which are currently in Environmental Review'
should be temporarily sheaved until completion and Board
adoption of the Land Use Element, expected to occur some-
time in October.
