Hydraulically deposited sands and gravels.
ITEM 1.2 GEOLOGIC DESCRIPTION AIM SETTING
The and: and gavel being mined and to be mined have been
deposited by . they Feather River in modern, and ancient high
water flow periods. The deposits are all on tho modern
active flood plain and are flanked by anciant sand and
gravel depositor on higher ground.
With the completion of the brovi le dam, replen z-hMent of
these sand and gravel deposits is Ulpossible The priaciPal
rock types are igneous and metamorphic. ,
The properties 1i.e Whol2y withili areas that have been
mined with gold dredgers. As SUch the reS01tiag land
is typical, with long rows of 'barren rocks accompanied
by parallel low ,was whitau su pports a light to heavy-
growth
eavygrowth of .esq winds and native weeds.
One slough re_,ulting frog , an old Feather River natural
channel change bisects the properties rolighl.y along
the dividing property line between "Nato nos" and 'Taiser"
.4 t (see exhibit 31)
Other than the contiiouc extraction w: sands and gravels,
either on "'Kaiser" or "Natomas" propertie s,q the lana. ban
been idle since the dredger days.
Because of the high permeability of the propertiea water
levels in existing waterways and mined areas rise and fall
in direct relationship to the adjacent Father River.
Existing materiel extraction operations create ponds
101 20# deep, with the water level i"l.uctuating with
the river level as indicated above.
The,edges of existing ponds are quick to respond to
natural revegetationj when left undisturbed

ROBINSON SAND -89 -GRAVEL, OROVILLE, BUTTE COUNTY
After I sent you a copy of,tiy personal field notes yesterday I realized
I should have included an elucidation.
Icy field notes other than observed conditions and measurements have no
bearing on Regional Board policy or decisions, Robinson Sand & Gravel
requested a waiver via attorney Ray Lenard some time in 1973 and the
waiver was granted based on conditions at she time, However, that waiver
was conditional and Stated it maybe terminated at any time by the Regional
Board.
It has been approximately eight years since the waiver was granted. During
this period conditions, emrloyees and policies have changed, Therefore,
it would be totally inappropriate to use my 1973 field notes for anything
other than historical interest.
Please contact nle at (915) 322-1594 if you have any questions.
