At ,this time I propose that the Board consider changing thenomenclature
of: "Agricultural Residential" to something more accurate in: its description
such as "Residential, Mountain Foothill." Clearly none of the land in Agri
cultural Residential can be tined for agriculture and such nomenclature would
be misleading and would permit the "no growth" and"selfish interest" groups
to deal wrongfully with these lands (57% ofcounty designated lands), and also
consider a more practical 'lot size under Consistnnt Zones as was initially
agreed upon, 1 to 40 acre lot size depending on grade and percolation.
I have read the initiative of the "Committee for the Preservation uf' Farm.
Land'' which they hope to put on the November 4 ballot and t don't like what
they are proposing to do. I believe that we should find an equitable way of
preserving our productive farm lands. The utilization of the marginal foothill
Land for residential development should be encouraged not prohibited as they
Propose to do. It is recognized that urban sprawl has some drawbacks, but not
