Dear Mr. Sands
Your concern for preservation of the environment in and around my
property on Doe Mill Ridge is commendable, and I am in agreement with
your goals. I hope we can work out a method whereby three parcels
can eventually Pe developed while at the same time maintaining the
rural environm6,* of that area.
I feel the mitigation you suggested in your letter of January 20,
1982, does have merit; ano I would like to apply it on a portion of
the property, specifically the north half. However, the southern
portion adjoins existing TM-10 zoning and I believe two more 10-acre
parcels would not be unduly detrimental to the environmeint, especially
since Conditions can be applied in connection with a subseq,ueht parcel
map to mitigate erosion and wildlife impacts, etc. The ot'ner concerns
traffir generation, road maintenance, and land use seem relatively
minor for a 3-parcel division involving such large paraela.
I sincerely hope we can oroceed with this rezone based on the compromise
I suggested. If you still feel a rezone to allow 3-parcals must have on
LIR, please explore the possibility of .processing my rozune request using
a previously certified LIP from another project in the area;. if neither
of these options is possible$ please consider this letter an appeal or
the LIR requirement and schedule the appropriate hearing.
In view of our common goals, we should be able to work out mutually
acceptable solution; Please let me know your conclusions. I will
contact you on Wednesday; February 3, 1982, to discuss your response:
