The Plan as approved encompasses the entre Chico urbanized area, and was prepared in consultcition with representatives of the Butte County Planning and Public Works De- partments. The Council, in approving theplan, noted that there were still many unresolved issues that should be addressed through a continuing planning process l.eadir,g to periodic updates/re- visions to the plan. Because the Plan involves potential bikeway facility development in unintorporated areas and other- forms of participation by Butte ,County, we arFr hereby transmitting the Plan for consideration by the Board of Supervisors In doing so, the Board may wish to indicate any needed revisions to the Plan or recbmmendations for further study. The Council unanimously adopted the proposal at the conclusion of this hearing. The City now intends to forward. the Plan to BCAG and the County Planning Commission for adoption. The Board o•f Supervisors would Be asked to adopt the Plan-, subsequent._ to Planning Commission approval. I would suggest that Goth: the Commission and the Beat& by scheduled to review the Bike Plan after the Board has approved the draft Circulation Element, which will be heard in early April. The draft Element's policies on urban area bicycle plans presontly conforms to actions taken to date regarding the Chico Bike Plan At the February 21st hearing, Department staff endorsed the Bike Plan proposal with one modification.
