A. NOR'TI-IWBST CH`ICO - GENERAL PLAN ALTERNA'1 M8
While awaiting the arrival of Commissioners Everhard and Chairman
Bennett, Mr. Lawson explained that the General flan was mandated by the
State Government Code and briefly revir,,u,ed its history, pointing our the
various Land Use Maps on the wall, Mr. Dawson added that an. attempt is
now being made to bring zoning ina'the Land Use Element of the General
Plan into consistency. Using another map, lie pointed out the various
areas around Chico to be considered in the near suture. He then turned
the meeting over to Mr. Gaiser -
Mr. Gaiset pointed out the various existing uses on "'he Land Use Map and,
using an overlay presented the advertised proposal for t},e Northwest Chico
Area. lie commented that this is some of the best soil in the ;County and
that many years ago it had been divided into 10 -acre lots -with
roads intersecting the lots approximately 1/4 mile apart. He added
that this was an attempt to recognize existing zoning and to use a
realistic long-range planning period. He stated that the proposal used
the theoretical extension of Eaton Road from the Esplanade to Highway 32
(as shown on maps in the Department of Public Works, Office) as a boundary.
He asked that available questionnaires be filled out and left with Mr.`
Smith.
`in the absence of Chairman Bennett, Mr. Casser turned the meeting over
to Commissioner Stutz who chaired the me;,,ting. Commissioner Stutz asked
for comments from the audience regarding the kind of development desired

Gentlemen
Today, April 18, the Coare'of Supervisors received and discussed
your letterof t' i"il 10 concerning the adoption of limited burning
regulations in t{1e unincorpora..ed areas of Chico:
'Chis subject was previpusly discussed by our Board of Supervisors
and a public hearing was held by the Cutte County Planning Commission at
that time.
The Board°was advised that there was no interest expressed
in the implementation of a limited burning regulation: However, a con-
siderable number of pnrsuns showed up at the Planning Commission hearing.
to oppose it. As a result, wihe Board of Supervisors declined to implement
the propabed burning regulations
Howevery in a spirit of coaperaticn, the Bo rd of SuPerviMirs has
requested—that the subject be referred back the lnning Comrtissin
again for the setting of another Pul, l7 c hpri ng and tft\it the City of
