As you and the Inter-Depamnent Review Committee assessed our plans, you must have also observed that a portion of the existing St. James Church structure extends roughly the same distance into the Holland Street 1 setback. We proposed access to the Church meeting room, as the plan reflects, to allow access from the two streets that border the property. The proposed access to the main Church (west side) is the only remaining street access. Stewardship of this congregation and simple common sense demands we provide access at the most convenient and physically accessible point possible_ Personally, l cannot imagine proposing handicapped access at any other than the closest and most easily accessible location.
