The $262.00 abandonment-processing fee has been paid. Please have the proposed abandonment submitted to the Planning Commission at the earliest opportunity, to be considered in regard to the findings that the project is categorically exempt from environmental review and the proposed abandonment is in conformance with the Butte County General Plan. Following Planning Commission action our department will further process the abandonment with County Counsel and the Board. Note that there is an easement reservation for utilities. Vicinity Map C: General Plan/Zoning Map STAFF COMMENT State law requires that the Planning Commission find that an abandonment such as proposed will not be in conflict with a General Plan. Staff has analyzed this request and recommends approval. PROJECT DESCRIPTION/SITE CHARACTERISTICS: The three public alleys proposed for abandonment are 16 feet wide, and range in length from 290 to 821 feet. These public alleys were created in 1907 as part of the Glendale Addition to Chico No. 1 Subdivision(Map of Records Book 6, Page 45). ANALYSIS: The alleys have never been used for public access.. Access to the affected parcels will be via Polk Street. Abandonment of the alleys will not have an impact on vehicle circulation in the area. An easement for public utilities will be reserved over the area proposed for abandonment. According to California Government Code Section 65402, the abandonment of property must be in conformance with the General Plan. This request is consistent with the Butte County General Plan because it does not conflict with any adopted or proposed element of the General Plan.
