The following requirements would be required for the proposed subdivision
based on the information supplied for eleven 1 acre parcels:
1. A community pressurized water system (Cal-Water) for fire protection is .
required. The specific location of the fire hydrants will be made by the Butte
County Fire Department in consultation with the developer. Average required
hydrant spacing is 800 feet, hydrant size 6 inches, and a residual flow of 500
gallons per minute.
2. All new structures must meet the fire safe regulations of Butte County and
Public Resources Code 4290 regarding the following:
a. A 30 foot building set back is required on the side and rear yards on all
parcels 1 acre or larger.
b. Driveways must beat least 10 feet wide and have a vertical clearance of 15
feet.
c. Building addresses must be posted at the beginning of construction and
maintained thereafter.

The Butte County Development Service Department has received a request for a pre-application
conference regarding a Tentative Subdivision Map proposing eleven, 1 (+/-) acre parcels. The property
is currently zoned SR(Suburban Residential) and is designated Low Density Residential by the General
Plan. On-site sewage disposal is proposed. Water service is proposed by Cal-Water Company. The
parcel is located south of and adjacent to Eaton Road at Rocking H Circle, in the north Chico area.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform the applicant of local or state requirements that may apply to their
project. This allows the applicant to incorporate those requirements into the design of the project when
the actual application is made.
The pre-development conference will be held in the Development Services Department conference room
located at 7 County Center Drive, Oroville on August 9, 2000 at 10:00 am. If your department has
concerns or comments regarding the proposal, please have someone attend or submit written comments
