Itfeatures economy, aesthetics and the lowest allowable waterflowwith a nominal 1" of adjustmentfor easier installation. The combination of the 3mm frangible glass ampule and specially designed deflector make the Model GL4906 the ultimate in life safety and fire control. It has metthe strict requirements of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. as described in UL Standard, 1626, for Residential Splinklersfor Fire Protection Service, and should be used accordingly. This sprinklershould also be installed in accordance with the appropriate NFPA Standard 13, 13D or 13R and under the direction of the approving authorities having jurisdiction. All that Is seen at the ceiling is the 3 5/16" diameter flat ceiling plate color finished to match the specifiers exact requirements. The ceiling plate issolderedtothe sprinklersspecial upper support assembly inthree places. Upon the application of sufficient heat, the plate fallsto the floor exposing the residential pendentspraysprinkler. Atthe prescri bed temperature the i nternal pressure withinthe ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the glass bulb to shatter. This results in water discharge which is distributed in an approved pattern.
