The Rapid Rack structure(s) consists of steel posts which are embedded into the ground as embedded piles. Racking consisting of custom extruded aluminum shapes used to support the solar modules and attach to the steel posts. This calculation packet. addresses the structural aspects of the new PV ground mount including foundation design. f Rapid Rack has hired Engineered Power Solutions (EPS) to address the structural adequacy of the proposed racking system and foundation design. Rapid Rack has provided a set of drawings and calculations for EPS to review. As a Geotechnical Report (soils report) was not provided to EPS for this project, EPS has used the worst-case soil conditions listed in the Presumptive Load - Bearing Values in Table 1806.2 of the CBC (Class 5 soil material). EPS is to be notified in writing if there is any reason to believe the soil values would provide design values worse than those listed in this table.
