NEW RECESSED LIGHT FIXTURES MUST BE AT/IC RATED
LUMINAIRES PROVIDING OUTDOOR LIGHTING AND PERMANENTLY MOUNTED TO A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
OR TO OTHER BULDINGS ON THE SAME LOT SHALL BE HIGH EFFICACY LUMINAIRES OR CONTROLLED BY
ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
1) CONTROLLED BY MANUAL ON/OFF SWITCH AND,
2) A MOTION SENSOR THAT IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH AN OVERRIDE OR BY PASS SWITCH THAT DISABLES
THE MOTION SENSOR AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING THREE METHODS TO AUTOMATICALLY TURN THE
LIGHTS OFF DURING THE DAY:
a) PHOTO CONTROL NOT HAVING AN OVERRIDE OR BYPASS SWITCH THAT DISABLES THE PHOTO
CONTROL; OR
b) aSTRONOMICAL TIME CLOCK NOT HAVING AN OVERRIDE OR BYPASS SWITCH THAT DISABLE THE
ASTRONOMICAL TIME CLOCK; OR
c) ENERGY MANAGEMENT CONTROLL SYSTEM (FMCS) NOT HAVING AN OVERRIDE OR BYPASS SWITCH
THAT ALLOWS THE LUMINAIRE TO BE ALWAYS ON.
THESE LUMINAIRES ARE AS INDICATED IN THE 2013 CALIFORNIA ENERGY CODE 150(k)13 (NOT INCLUDING
LIGHTING AROUND SWIMMING POOLS/WATER FEATURES OR OTHER ARTICLE 680 LOCATIONS) OR ARE
CONTROLLED BY OCCUPANT SENSORS WITH INTEGRAL PHOTO CONTROL CERTIFIED TO COMPLY WITH
SECTION 119(d).
