Arrived at thejobsite at 0800 hours to perform special inspection of high strength bolting at the trailer inspection platform. Before tightening the bolts we verified that thematerials used in this assembly were in conformance with the requirements of section 2 (Bolts, Nuts, Washers and Paint) and section 3 (Bolted Parts) of the RCSC Specifications: The bolts used in this structure were A325 grade high strength bolts with hardened steel washers beneath hardened steel nuts. The Calibrated Wrench Tightening method was used per Section 9.2.2 of the RCSC'Specifications. A representative sample of 3 bolts from each diameter, length, and grade used in this structure were tightened in the Skidmore Wilhelm tension -indicating device using a calibrated dial -indicator torque wrench. Three readings were recorded, on the wrench, for each bolt size; in order to establish an average job test torque to provide a tension not less than five percent in excess of the minimum tension specified in Table 8.1 of the RCSC Specifications. Each bolt assembly was installed and tightened to a snug -tight condition by the contractor prior to tightening. There were a total of 58 bolts in the structure, all were tightened using the above mentioned procedure. Based on the -above mentioned procedure, it is ourjudgment that all A325 high strength..bolts installed in the " structure have been properly tensioned in accordance with the RCSC Specificatioris:'for;Structural Joints contained in the AISC Manual for Steel Construction. CA 95338 t April 10, 2017 Butte County Department of Development Services Building Division 7 County Center Drive Oroville, Ca. 95965-3397 Subject: Permit B16-1(Recycle Cover) " L Dear sir or madam: After plans were completed and permits were issued on the above project, it was found that the proposed building interfered with a required access rout on the property and needed to be'shortened. This was accomplished by removing the interior 24' bay so that the steel building became a total of 46' long instead of the 7.0' shown on the plans. The actual length of the structure including the concrete block walls was reduced to 46'-9 5/8". The revised floor area of the addition became 1,150 s.f. instead of the 1,750 s.f. shown on the plans. The footings for the end frame at gridline 4 is were relocated along with the frame and are structurally adequate to support the revised building as shown on the amended butler plan. ' .
