FEMA Elevation Certificate Section D Supplemental Information
For Springer Ranch

1. This elevation certificate is for a 20'x35' (700 sq.ft.) storage building with slab -on -grade
foundation that is an accessory building to a residence.
2. , All elevations referred to in these comments refer to the NAVD88 datum.
3. The design flood elevation (DFE) is 93.6 feet being one foot above the Base Flood Elevation.
4. All building materials less than one foot above the base flood elevation shall be flood resistant
materials.
5. No mechanical equipment or plumbing components are proposed.
6. Minimal electrical lights and plugs are proposed and required to be placed on isolated GFI
circuits. The electrical circuits will connect to a, new panel elevated above the DFE. Any
electrical components installed below the DFE shall be installed to prevent water from entering
or accumulating within the components during conditions of flooding.
7. Materials and utility equipment resistant to flood damage for areas below the DFE shall be in
conformance with FEMA Technical Bulletin 2-08 Flood Damage Resistant Materials.
Contractor Responsibilities regarding FEMA elevation Certificates
1. "Contractor shall preserve temporary elevation benchmark(s) on site.
2. Contractor shall request from the engineer/surveyor, a formboard inspection to verify height of building is
constructed at the proper elevation.
3. Contractor shall request all elevation certificate inspections of engineer/surveyors a minimum of 48 hours prior
to calling for any inspections of the County building department.

STRUCTURAL COMMENTS
1. Lateral has been redone using the 2013 CBC and ASCE 7-10 codes and the results are
incorporated in the design. At Panels 1 & 2 holdowns were changed from LTT19 to
LTT20B as the only change.
2. Beams and footings per the calculations have been added to the Plans.
3. Detail 2 has been modified per Item 12 above and the Detail reference has been added.
