SCOPE OF WORK STATEMENT:
The scope of this project is to supervise the wet and dry pipe fire
sprinkler system within warehouse #3 which is undergoing t.i. work.
four new horns shall be added within warehouse #3. A new heat
detector shall be installed at the nac power supply location.
All other existing wiring, devices and appliances shall remain as
installed and shall not be modified.
REVISION 1 STATEMENT:
The intent of this revision is to show the addition of a horn within a
new cold storage room. Plans were also changed/updated to address
plan check comments.

UNDER THIS SUBMITTAL. EXISTING DEVICES AND APPLIANCES
WERE INSTALLED PER THE APPLICABLE CODES DURING THE TIME
OF INSTALLATION.
NEW WIRING, DEVICES AND APPLIANCES SHALL COMPLY WITH
THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE 201 G EDITION, CHAPTER 35,
CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE 201 G EDITION, SECTION 907,
CALIFORNIA ELECTRIC CODE 201 G EDITION, ARTICLE 7GO, AND
NEPA 72 201 G EDITION, AS AMENDED IN CHAPTER 35 OF THE
CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE.
WHENEVER POSSIBLE DEVICE AND APPLIANCE SYMBOLS USED
SHALL BE PER CFC SECTION 907.1 .2(14), 201 G EDITION AND
CHAPTER G OF NEPA 170, 201 G EDITION. ANY SYMBOL USED
THAT IS NOT FROM NEPA 170 SHALL BE CLEARLY NOTED AND
DEFINED.
ALL DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT BEING INSTALLED HAVE BEEN
APPROVED BY THE CALIFORNIA STATE FIRE MARSHAL (CSFM)
AS PER CFC SECTION 007.1.3, 201 G EDITION AND PURSUANT
TO SECTION 13 144.1 OF THE CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY
CODE. ANY DEVICES OR EQUIPMENT NOT HAVING A CURRENT
CSFM LISTING NUMBER SHALL BE NOTED AS SUCH.
UPON ACTIVATION OF AN INITIATING DEVICE, THE RESPECTIVE
DEVICE SHALL CAUSE AN INDICATION OF ALARM, SUPERVISION
OR TROUBLE TO BE RECEIVED BY THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL
UNIT.
DURING AN ALARM CONDITION, THE FACU SHALL CAUSE ALL
NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES TO OPERATE. THE RESPECTIVE
ZONE/POINT ADDRESS SHALL BE INDICATED AT THE FACU. AN
APPROPRIATE SIGNAL SHALL BE TRANSMITTED TO THE
RECEIVING STATION FOR DISPOSITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH
NEPA 72 CHAPTER 2G, 201 G EDITION.
A FIRE SPRINKLER MONITORING SYSTEM SHALL COMPLY WITH
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE, 201 G
EDITION, ARTICLE 903.4.
INITIATING DEVICES, SUPERVISORY DEVICES AND JUNCTION
BOXES LOCATED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING SHALL MEET THE
REQUIREMENTS OF 23.8.5.1 1. 1, NEPA 72, 201 G THROUGH
THE USE OF TAMPER RESISTANT FASTENERS.
A HEAT DETECTOR IS BEING INSTALLED AT THE NAC POWER
SUPPLY PANEL AS ALLOWED PER CFC, SECTION 907.5.1 PER
EXCEPTION, 201 G EDITION AS AMBIENT CONDITIONS PREVENT
THE INSTALLATION OF A SMOKE DETECTOR AT THIS LOCATION.
THIS SYSTEM IS CONNECTED TO INITIATING DEVICES THAT HAVE
BEEN INSTALLED BY OTHER CONTRACTORS.
UPON LEAK OR FLOW OF WATER IN EXCESS OF TEN GALLONS
PER MINUTE, THE FLOW SWITCH SHALL CLOSE, WITH THE
RESPECTIVE DEVICE CAUSING AN INDICATION OF ALARM TO BE
RECEIVED BY THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL UNIT. THE RESPECTIVE
ZONE OR POINT ADDRESS SHALL BE INDICATED AT THE FACU,
AND AN APPROPRIATE SIGNAL SHALL BE TRANSMITTED TO THE
RECEIVING STATION FOR DISPOSITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH
NEPA 72, 201 G EDITION.
UPON MOVEMENT OF A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM CONTROL
VALVE FROM AN OPEN POSITION, AND DURING THE FIRST TWO
REVOLUTIONS, A SUPERVISORY SIGNAL SHALL BE RECEIVED BY
THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL UNIT AND AN APPROPRIATE "VALVE
TAMPER" SIGNAL SHALL BE TRANSMITTED TO THE RECEIVING
STATION FOR DISPOSITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEPA 72,
201 G EDITION.
INSPECTOR'S TEST VALVES, SUPERVISORY VALVES, DRAIN
VALVES AND OTHER DEVICES THAT WHEN ACTIVATED MAY
CAUSE AN ALARM SIGNAL TO BE GENERATED SHALL BE TAGGED
WITH A SIGN. THE SIGN OR TAG SHALL READ "WARNING FIRE
DEPARTMENT WILL RESPOND IF THIS SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS

WHERE PRACTICAL, THE NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES FOR
INDOOR USE SHALL BE INSTALLED FLUSH ON WALLS.
BACK -BOXES SHALL BE USED. WALL MOUNTED AUDIBLE
APPLIANCES SHALL HAVE THEIR TOPS AT HEIGHTS ABOVE THE
FINISHED FLOORS OF NOT LESS THAN 90" AND BELOW THE
FINISHED CEILINGS OF NOT LESS THAN G ". AUDIBLE SIGNALS
SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF NEPA 72, 201 G EDITION
SECTIONS 18.4.2.1 AND 18.4.2.4. AUDIBLE APPLIANCES
SHALL BE SET TO 'MEDIUM'.
ALL EXPOSED WIRING SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM PHYSICAL
DAMAGE AND SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHIN APPROPRIATE
RACEWAY OR CONDUIT WHEN WITHIN 7 FEET OF THE FLOOR
PER CEC, 201 G EDITION.
PRIMARY POWER SUPPLY SHALL BE PROVIDED BY A DEDICATED
BRANCH CIRCUIT RATED AT NO LESS THAN 20 AMPS, AND
PROVIDING 1 20VAC NOMINAL TO THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL
UNIT. CIRCUITS AND CONNECTIONS SHALL BE MECHANICALLY
PROTECTED, SHALL BE ACCESSIBLE ONLY TO AUTHORIZED
PERSONNEL, SHALL HAVE A RED MARKING, AND SHALL BE
IDENTIFIED AS "FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT", PER NEPA 72, 201 G
EDITION, SECTION I O.G.5.2.
SECONDARY POWER SUPPLY TO BE PROVIDED BY INTEGRAL
BATTERIES SIZED AS INDICATED IN THE BATTERY CALCULATION.
A 20% BATTERY DE -RATING FACTOR HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN
THE BATTERY CALCULATION(S) PER NEPA 72, SECTION
10.G.7.2.1.
THE OWNER OF THE FACILITY SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
MAINTAINING REQUIRED UTILITIES SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE
CONTINUOUS OPERATION OF THE PROTECTION SYSTEM. THIS
SHALL INCLUDE DEDICATED PRIMARY POWER SUPPLY BY MEANS
OF DEDICATED BRANCH CIRCUIT, WITH SUITABLE LOCKOUT,
AND REQUIRED TELEPHONE LINES.
THE PREPARER OF THESE PLANS SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR OR LIABLE FOR ANY UNAUTHORIZED CHANGES TO OR USES
OF THESE PLANS. ALL CHANGES TO THE PLANS MUST BE IN
WRITING AND MUST BE APPROVED BY THE PREPARER OF THESE
PLANS.
