SSM/SSV Series
Alarm Bells
System Sensor's SSM and S'W series alarm bells are
low current, high decibel notification appliances for
use in fire and burglary systems or other signaling
applications.
Features

Available in six-inch, eight -inch, and ten -inch sizes
AC and DC models
DC models polarized for use with supervision circuitry
Mount directly to standard four -inch square electrical box indoors
SSM and SSV series come pre -wired
Reliable Performance. The SSM and SSV series provide loud
resonant tones. The SSM series operates on 24VDC and are motor
driven, while the SSV series operates on 120VAC utilizing a vibrating
mechanism.
Simplified Installation. For indoor use, the SSM and SSV series
mount to a standard four -inch square electrical box. For outdoor
applications, weatherprocf back box, model number WBB, is used.
The SSM and SSV series come pre -wired, to reduce installation time.
The SSM series incorporat=s a polarized electrical design for use with
supervision circuitrv.
SSM/5591 Specifications
Model shall be a SSM or SSV Series alarm bell. Bells shall have underclome strikers and operating mechanisms. Gongs on said bells shall be no smaller than
nominal 678710- (specify size) with an operating voltage of'4VDC or 120VAC (specify by part number). Bells shall be suitable for surface or semi -Flush

General
Description
Tyco® CPVC Pipe and Fittings pro-
duced by Tyco Fire & Building Prod-
ucts (TFBP) are designed exclusively
for use in wet pipe automatic fire sprin-
kler systems. The Tyco CPVC Pipe
and Fittings are produced from Blaze-
Mastero CPVC compound that is a
specially developed thermoplastic
compound composed of post chlorin-
ated polyvinyl. chloride (CPVC) resin
and state of the art additives. Tyco
CPVC Pipe and Fittings are easier to
install than traditional steel pipe sys-
tems, and at the same time, provide
superior heat resistance and strength
as compared to traditional CPVC and
PVC piping materials used in the
plumbing trade. Various adapters are
available to connect CPVC pipe to me-
tallic piping. All female pipe thread
adapters have brass inserts for dura-
bility. Grooved adapters connect di-
rectly to grooved end valves and me-
tallic pipe, with flexible grooved end
couplings.

stalled and maintained in compliance
with this document and with the appli-
cable standards of the National Fire
Protection Association, in addition to

pair the performance of these devices.

vices in proper operating condition.

book IH -1900 dated June 2008.
Care and
Maintenance
The owner is responsible for the in-
spection, testing, and maintenance of
their fire protection system and de-
vices in compliance with this docu-
ment, as well as with the applicable
standards of the National Fire Protec-
tion Association (e.g., NFPA '25), in
addition to the standards of any
authority having jurisdiction. The in-
stalling contractor or product manufac-
turer should be contacted relative to
any questions.
Automatic sprinkler systems should be
inspected, tested, and maintained by a
qualified Inspection Service in accord-
ance with local requirements and/or
national codes.
NOTICE
Before closing a fire protection system
control valve for inspection or mainte-
nance work on the fire protection sys-
tem that it controls, permission to shut
down the affected fire protection sys-
tem must first be obtained from the
proper authorities and all personnel
who may be affected by this action
must be notified.
After placing a fire protection system
in service, notify the proper authorities
and advise those responsible for moni-
toring proprietary and/or central sta-
tion alarms.

Function — Intended to perform as a hanger/restrainer to support
CPVC piping used in automatic fire sprinkler systems. Fig. 23 can
be installed on the top, bottom or side of a beam. The Fig. 23 also
functions as a. restrainer to prevent the upward movement of the
sprinkler head during activation.
Approvals — Underwriters' Laboratories Listed in the USA (UL)
and Canada (cUL) sizes 3/4" thru 2" to support fire sprinkler piping.
May be installed in wood using fasteners supplied with produci,
or into minimum 20 gauge steel using (2) -1/4" x I " tek type screw.
Meets and exceeds the requirements of NFPA 13, 13P, and 13D.
Features — Fig. 23 incorporates features which'pr'otect the pipe
and ease installation. The flared edge design protects the CPVC
pipe from any rough sur7ace, It also incorporates snap restrain-
ers allowing easier and faster installation. Easily attaches to the
building structure using the two UL Listed hex head self thread-
ing screws` furnished with the product. It is recommended that
rechargeabie.electric drills fitted with a:hex socket. attach ment-be
used as installation tools. No impact tools (such as a hammer) are
---ailowed. Damageha's-been-known to`resuf from.�>fis'ta'Hatons=using
impact type tools. No pre -drilling of a pilot hole in wood is required.
