Please note that our review does not encompass provisions regulated and enforced by Planning, Engineering, Public Works, Health Departments; or other authorities outside the jurisdiction of the Building Department. ■ Please address all of the following items and return a copy of this list, along with a response sheet, indicating the location of all required changes to the plans, specifications and/or calculations. Please verify that the redundancy factor of 1.0 is applicable to this project. Per ASCE7-10 section 12.3.4.2, for Seismic Design Category D, which this projected is assigned to, the redundancy factor should be 1.3. Please verify and revise calculations or provide calculations which demonstrate either of the two applicable exceptions. At the 6-6" shear wall on shear line 1, one of the HDU2 anchor bolts is still shown as a SSTS16 on sheet S1. Please correct this to show a SSTB20 anchor per the revised calculations. S6. Please show how each truss will be supported that has a reaction greater than 2.5 kips. Will a stud be directly under each of those trusses? Please clarify how each truss will be supported and provide calculations showing the following: a. The capacity of a double top plate when a truss is not placed directly over the stud Please provide a calculation that shows the maximum point load capacity of the double top plates for a concentrated load at midspan between studs. c. The crushing capacity of the top plate when the load is perpendicular to the grain Please provide a calculation to show the maximum load acceptable within the crushing capacity of the top plate. Compare this value to the truss reactions and the number of studs which occur below the supported truss reactions. Page 3 of 4 TRB+ Agency: County of Butte TRB+ Project Number. PCI 7.054.107.2 V NEW COMMENT f. Note that trusses C14 -C16 have been designed assuming an interior bearing wall support (at rear wall of garage with door to interior) and.the truss reactions at this interior wall exceed the crushing capacity of a 2x6 top plate over a single 2x6 stud. The drawings do not show any studs to be located below these trusses at this particular wall line, or a header over the door opening designed to carry truss reaction loads. Please address the support conditions of these trusses on the drawings and provide calculations to support the design. [END] Page 4 of 4 , 3
