Dear Norris,
The test data has been reviewed, and the necessary calculations have been performed,
proving the manufactured home engineered tie -down system produced by Cornerstone
Foundation System, LLC called "Smart Foundation 1113-54" (SFRB-54 and SFS -60) is
acceptable as a lateral and vertical force resisting system for wind zones I, Il, and III with
a "C" exposure, and a seismic Site "D", Ss=1.384, Fa==1.0, R=5, lateral load. In
addition, an 80 lb./ Sq. Ft. roof load and up to 30" lateral soil loads may be resisted
simultaneously. SFRB-54 and SFS -60 also meet or exceed the design requirements of
"poured in place" type foundation from the "Permanent Foundation Guidebook for
Manufactured Housing" 4145.1 Rev. 2 and 41.50.1 Rev. (1996) and also with the
manufacturer pier point layout. The installation also meets or exceeds the design
requirements of the HUD -7534 Handbook: This allows the SFRB-54 and SFS -60 to meet
foundation certification for all HUD, FHA and VA lending on Manufactured Housing,
provided that the SFRB-54 and SFS -60 installation instructions are followed. It also
meets or exceeds the requirements of Section 1333 Chapter 2, Title 25 of the California
Administrative Code and 18551 of the Health and Safety Code. This engineered tie -
down system is not intended for use in a flood hazard area, contact Pacific Northwest
Engineering, Inc. for additional engineering when needed. And it meets or exceeds the
Oregon 20.10 Manufactured Dwelling Installation Specialty Code.
Test results and engineering calculations are available to authorities having jurisdiction
when requested.

SMART FOUNDATION SERB 54 AND SFS 60 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
• Cut panel to height, gap at footing and panel not to exceed I".

• Install top and bottom connector into pre -cast panel. Four top and four bottom holes are cast in
panel, pre -drill holes as needed. Install connector plates facing outside or inside of wall panel.
• Install vent panels on left and right side of corner, each vent is 72 sq. inches. All other panels
are without vents, work to center of wall or behind door step for last cut to fit.
• Move panel in position with pry bar, left snug to rim joist. Drive wedges firm, do not over
tighten, may cause lift of home.
• Confirm wall is straight and plumb before driving joist.and footing screws.
Connectors outside of Wall — Set the face of the panel back %" from the face of the rim
joist. Drive joist screw at slight angle for maximum bite.
Connectors inside of Wali Set the face of the panel %Z" out from the face of rim joist,
basically to the face of the exterior siding. Drive joist screw at slight angle
for maximum bite.
• Seal all vertical seams with caulking. Seal gap at bottom of panel to footing with non shrink
mortar. When backfilling more than 8", add moisture barrier solution to mix. ALTERNATE
FOOTING - Back fill as plan shows.
• Partial panels, sixteen inches or wider must have two top and two bottom connectors. Pre -drill
3/16" as needed. Minimum 6" from side.edge,space evenly..
• All other supports, main frame, marriage line, shall be.as required by manufactured home
installation instructions or authorityhaving jurisdiction. It is the responsibility of the cofactor
or person drawing permit to comply with the code. Installer must comply with footing frost
depth code.
• WARNING To Contimtor and Home Owner
• Cornerstone Foundation was designed to prevent
the entrance of rodents to the underside of home.
Do not allow holes larger than '/e" to be left open
by installer of phone, TV cable, air conditioning
lines, water, gas, etc.
• Soil back -fill. Keep load of tractor away from
foundation wall.
• A single wide home 13 & or less, is not covered
for wind tie -downs with this engineering.
• Not for use in flood hazard area.
