Mr. Hunt said that I would have to get p Central Valley Flood Board so I applied in November of 2015 for that permit. You can see on one of following pages their acknowledgement that I did apply in 2015. Then on May 22 of this year i emailed Mr. Hunt again and told him that the Central Valley Flood Board had finally approved my permit on May 19th of this year. He said in an email that you can read in the enclosed documents that I would be permitted to build the addition using the 2013 codes. Unfortunately, I still have not received anything from the Central Valley Flood Board saying that my permit is approved and you can read why in an email which I've attached. Hopefully I will receive confirmation from the flood board in the near future that I can then show you. Mr. Hunt, Back in August of 20151 received an email from you saying that before I could get a permit from the County I needed to get approval from the flood board. It took a while for me to work with the flood board to figure out how high I had to put the addition and then I had the plans drawn at that time. I submitted those plans and my application for a permit to the Central Valley Flood Board in November of 2015, and they finally approved the addition last Friday (May 19th). Since the plans were drawn up in 2015, the gentleman who drew up those plans said that I should check with the County to make sure that we don't have to update them since there are new building codes that went into effect this year. He suggested 1 explain my situation to you so you can tell me if I need to have the plans updated or if I would be allowed to proceed and build the addition under the 2013 regulations since "I started the process in 2015. Gallagher w COUNW Executive Officer Central Valley Flood Protection Board JUL 2 5 2017 C e Room 170 3310 El amino Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95821 DEVELOPMENT - SERVICES Dear Ms. Gallagher: 8i7,/) We have reviewed permit application 19075 submitted by Ronald Jones to alter the Sacramento River Flood Control Project authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1917, as amended. These plans cover authorizing an existing 1,740 sq ft dwelling and constructing a 615 sq ft home addition within the Butte Basin. The project is located on the property of 9878 River Road in Chico, at 39.6589831N 121.936842°W NAD83, Butte County, CA. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has reviewed this application and determined that the alteration will not be injurious to the public interest and will not impair the usefulness of the project works. Pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. § 408 (Section 408), the District Commander approves the request to alter the Federal flood risk reduction project subject to the following conditions: a. That if the structure is damaged due to any cause, cumulatively to the extent of more than 50 percent of its market value; the structure may not be reconstructed or replaced without the approval of the Board. b. That materials or equipment stored within the floodway must. be securely anchored or removed prior to the flood season. c. That no work shall be performed in the floodway during the flood season of November 1 to April 15, unless otherwise approved in writing by your Board. d. That in the event trees and brush are cleared, they shall be properly disposed of i either by complete burning or by complete removal outside the limits of the floodway. e.
