NG= NATURAL GAS SERVICE PGE = POWER SUPPLY Scope of Work: The Project consists of replacing a portion of the roof framing on an existing attached garage due to a tree fall. The existing home is a wood framed building built in 1985 in compliance with the methods of construction for that era (1983 UBC). 2x4 wall framing is supported by continuous foundation. The roof is comprised of manufactured trusses. A tree fall on the north side of the attached garage caused damage to the gable end and two trusses. Wall framing under the gable end was also damaged. Method of repair: The 2016CRC is applicable to this repair. The existing methods of bracing were compromised as a result of the impact. Bracing will be remedied using prescriptive measures. The two damaged trusses and gable end shall be removed and replaced as per existing. All new roof sheathing shall be APA plywood per the plan. The roof shall be finished as per existing composition shingles. Wall framing on the north wall shall be replaced as required as per existing. Standard braced wall panels will be utilized across the north and west walls. On the east wall an alternate braced wall panel with retrofit hold-downs will be installed north of the garage door. Mandatory Code upgrades: All new work shall comply with the 2016 CRC. As part of this work the existing Smoke Detectors shall be verified compliant with the notes and R314.3.1. And R315.2.2. Approved seismic straps for the water heater shall be verified THE 2016 CALIF RESIDENTIAL CODE IS APPLICABLE TO THE NEW PORTIONS OF THIS PROJECT. THE 2016 CGBSC- WS1 AND WS2 ARE NOT -REQUIRED FOR THIS REPAIR. THE CALBO INTERPRETATION OF SB407 IS THAT IT IS APPLICABLE TO ALTERATIONS OF ENHANCEMENT OR TO IMPROVE THE STRUCTURE.
