Declaration ®f Installation
for Smoke Alarms and Carbon Monoxide Alarms
The newly adopted. 2013 California Residential Code requires the installation of Carbon
Monoxide Detectors in dwelling units and in sleeping units within which fuel -burning appliances
are installed and in dwelling units that have attached garages.. The policy for Carbon Monoxide
Alarms in Butte County states: "Any permit obtained in which the value of work. exceeds $1000
associated with a Residential Group R Dwelling Unit or Sleeping Unit shall conform to the
following 2013 California Residential Code requirements for Smoke and Carbon Monoxide
Alarms (Section R314 & R315)."
2013 California Residential Code requirements for Carbon Monoxide Alarms:
R315.1:,New construction: An approved carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed in dwelling
units and in sleeping units within which fuel -burning appliances are installed and in dwelling
units that have attached garages.
8315.1.2 Rower supply: For new construction required carbon monoxide alarms shall receive
their primary power from the building wiring where such wiring is served from a commercial
source and shall be equipped with a battery back-up. Alarm. wiring shall be, directly connected to
the permanent building wiring without a disconnecting switch other than as required for over-,
current protection.
E.,cceptions. 1
1. [n dwelling units where there is no commercial power supply the carbon monoxide alarm maybe solely
battery operated.
2. [n existing dwelling units a carbon monoxide alarm is permitted to be solely battery operated where
repairs or alterations do not result in the removal of wall and ceiling finishes
or there is no access by means of attic, basement or crawl space.
8315.1.3 Interconnection. Where more than one carbon monoxide alarm is required to be
installed within the dwelling unit or within a sleeping unit the alarm shall be interconnected in a
manner that activation of one alarm shall activate all of the alarms in the individual unit.
Exception:
1. Interconnection is not required in existing dwelling units where repairs do not result in the
removal of wall and ceiling finishes, there is no access by means of attic basement or crawl
space and no previous melhod for interconnection existed.
8315.2 Where required;;i;riyexisting dvvellings: Where a permit is required for alterations,
repairs or,'additions exceed:i ig one thousand dollars ($1,000), existing dwellings or sleeping
units that,ha've attached .gp' rages orfuel-burning"appliances shall be provided with a carbon
monoxide alarm in accordance with Section 83'1:5.1. Carbon monoxide alarms shall only be
required in the specific dwelling unit or sleeping, unit for which the permit was obtained.

To Whom it May Concern,
In order to meet future advanced grid requirements, SunPower® is transitioning from Type C ACmodulesto Type D AC
modules. The purpose of this letter,is to demonstrate the mechanical and electrical`equivalency of Type C AC modules
l and Type D AC modules. Type D AC modules are drop-in replacements for Type C AC modules and are available at the
same DC and AC power levels. Type D AC modules have the same form, fit, and function as Type C AC modules. The AC
electrical output specifications of Type C AC modules and Type DAC modules are equivalent, ensuring interchangeability
for AC conductors, overcurrent protection. devices, and grounding.
SunPower Type D AC modules are certified per LIC1741 SA to the, following SRDs: IEEE 1547, IEEE 1547a, and CPUC Rule
21 Phase 1. These additional certifications and functionality enable Type D AC modules.to meet California CPUC Rule 21
Phase 1 smart inverter requirements. -The following table lists the Type C AC module models and their respective Type D _
equivalents, as of the date of this letter:
Where Type D AC modules are substituted in the field for. Type C AC modules; no changes to the physical layout,,structu'ral
loading, electrical.design; or interconnection are required.

1. Locate the rafters and snap horizontal and vertical lines to mark the installation position for
each GreenFasten flashing.
2. Drill a pilot hole (1/4"diameter) for the lag bolt. Backfill with sealant. EcoFasten Solar
recommends an EPDM mastic.
3. Insert the flashing so the top part is under the next row of shingles and pushed far enough
up slope to prevent water infiltration through vertical joint in shingles. The leading edge of
flashing must butt against upper row of nails to prevent turning when tourqued. See page
2.2 for vertical adjustment when leading edge of flashing hits nails in upper shingle courses.
4. Line up pilot hole with GreenFasten flashing hole.
4a Insert the lag bolt through the EPDM washer, the top compression component bracket (L-
102-3, L-102-6*, SCL-101-3*, Z-101*, Conduit Mount Bracket*) and the gasketed hole in the
flashing and into the rafter.
4b Insert the lag bolt through the EPDM washer, the Comp Mount Slide compression
bracket and the gasketed hole in the flashing and into the rafter.
4c Insert the lag bolt through the SS washer, the third -party bracket, the EPDM bonded
washer, the CP -SQ -Slotted compression bracket and the gasketed hole in the flashing
and into the rafter.
5. Torque:The range is between 100-140 torque inch -pounds depending on the type of wood
and time of year. The visual indicator for proper torque is when the EPDM on the underside
of the bonded washer begins to push out the sides as the washer compresses. If using an
impact wrench to install the fasteners be careful not to over torque the fastener. You may
need to stop and use a ratchet to finish the install.
