Maps recorded prior to May 8, 1893: The map is a descriptor only, not a creator.. The lots depicted on it will not be accepted unless created at an appropriate time by a recorded deed. Multiple lots or blocks- conveyed in a single description on an appropriate deed will be recognized as only one lot. The cutoff dates for appropriate grant deed(s), deeds of trust and leases to separate groups of lots into individual lots for sale, lease or finance is March 4,.1972 and for Gift Deeds is March 13, 1993. Rights of ways for roads may have been created even if the map per se was not approved by the Board of. Supervisors. 2. Maps recorded between May 8, 1893 and August 10, 1913: If the .map does not specifically state that it was approved by the Board of Supervisors, it and the lots depicted on it will not be accepted. However, the roads may have been dedicated and accepted by the Board of Supervisors as public rights of way, without their having approved the map or without the map having created any lots (example Western Pacific Addition 4M 16). 3. Maps recorded between August 10, 1913 and July 22, 1919: The map must have been specifically approved by the Board of Supervisors and must either state or it must be shown that the lots depicted thereon have been reviewed for design and improvement before it can be accepted. This information is normally, contained in the County Surveyor/Assessor Statement. 4. Maps recorded between July 22, 1919 and August 14, 1929: The map must have been specifically approved by the Board of Supervisors and must contain language from the County Engineer or Surveyor stating that he has examined every lot on the map and that every lot is suitable for "residence or commercial" purposes before it can be accepted. 5. Maps recorded after August 14, 1929: The design and improvements for the subdivision depicted on the map must have been reviewed and approved by.the Board of Supervisors for the map and the lots depicted thereon to be accepted.
