Avenue Grass Valley, California 95945 .06-273-4868 Report on the'New Era Mine This report'is written for Ron Logan and is a recapitulation of my report.of May 20',1988, and updated to the present time. I originally took samples at the mine by panning the surface gravels in 1982 and visually estimated that these grave.ls would yield 3 5.00 pe.r cubic yard.. A small recovery plant was built and tested 46 cubic yards of gravel which yielded $ 12..60 per cubic yard, however, these gravels were deeper than the surface gravels and closer to bedrock. In -1990'a small operation was begun and.a total of about 600 cubic yards of gravel was processed which.'yielded about $ 18.00 per cubic yard..I visited the property during this operation and. noted that to.much surface material was being processed. Only the lower 20 to 25 ft. and some bedrock should be run and everything above 25 .ft. should have been pushed aside and used later for back- fill. This would improve the dollar amount per cubic yard. This F test did however uncover the bedrock and excellent looking gravels immediately above bedrock. Also test pits were dug and gravels were exposed for the entire length of the property. The estimated productive area of the property will be.as follows: 1300 lineal ft. in a north -.south direction, 660 lineal ft. ina east -west direction.and 25 lineal ft. of thickness. This would. yield a total yardage of 795.,000 cubic yards of gravel. I estimate that ~ at $ 20.00 per cubic yard.($370.00 gold) a total yield of $16,000,000 could be recovered. If only one half.the gravel is mined and processed, this would yield $8,000,000. If the finnegs of the gold is 0.90., Underground Surface Associates,, Inc.. 10323 Adam Avenue Grass , Valley, California 95945 916-273-4868 then the yield would'be $7,200,000,'i.f only 90 percent of the gold is recovered this would. yield $6,480,000. Raw gold is sold for 77 percent of .the gold spot price which would bring the total yield to $52000,000. Property improvements since my initial visit to -the mine site: 1. A new well constructed bridge was built to cross Dry Creek. 2. 6 settling ponds have been constructed. 3. Much.of.the area to be mined has been cleared of brush and trees. 4. .Drainage was constructed around the mining area to control and prevent creek contamination. S. A large concrete pad was constructed on which to place. the wash plant and recovery unit. 6. All the above work has.been approved by the County, Fish and Game Dept. and the Water Quality Agency. 7. Neither the Federal or State mining agencies have ever issued any citations during the. construction and mining at the .property. 8. Just west of the ponds the entire width of the channel was exposed by digging test pits in a north -south direction for the entire length of the property. .'Comments 1. Dry Creek runs all year round with adequate water to process the gravel mined. 2.The properties to the North,South and West are readily available if additional 'mining is desired in any of these directions 3. This would be a year round operation.. Permitting has been completed and approved .by all agencies. The test pit should be extended to the south for*the entire length of the property to'expose the entire width of the channel. 2. The exposed gravels will then be processes and the gold recovered. 3. When the lowest structural position is located which should .contain the greatest concentration of gold, this area could then be -mined by underground methods with the least surface disturbance and the greatest dollar value per cubic yard. 4.'A good. 100 cubic yard.per hour wash plant and recovery unit.should be installed. This type of equipment is readily available. .5. All excavation and mapping should be done by a competent geologist who will be at the site on a regular basis. 6. At least one seismic line should be run perpendicular to the channel to -indicate the structural conditions of the bedrock. It is my opinion that. this property could easily be mined at a relatively low cost with a minimum of governmental interference and show a handsome profit as this -is a viable gold mining venture.
