If the.request is not submitted prior to the agreement's expiration, the Department will be unable to accept the request.. In that case, the holder will need to notify the Department in accordance with Fish and Game Code section 1602 or section 1611 and obtain a new agreement in order to begin or continue the work covered by the expired agreement. If the holder submits an extension request prior to the agreement's expiration, the agreement may remain in effect until the Department acts on the request or -for one year after the agreement expires, whichever period is shorter.
