We were not able to perform the required inspections during construction so we made a reasonable visual inspection without going on the roof, under the building, or in the attic, and found -the :following' items which must be done or resolved: (1). The building is supported on `pile type construction and consists of some unusual structural methods and is considered at•least a three story building which will require submission of complete plans and calculations prepared by a registered civil engineer or architect on. the complete building and decks. These plans and calculations must! verify adequacy of complete structural sys- tem, including decks and stairs, and/or corrective action necessary to conform to code requirements.., ; (2) All stairs must conform' to code rise, run,'handrail, guardrail, and headroom_ clearance requirements. (3) Both. the second and third floors must have two separate exits from each floor. # (4) Verify plywood flooring; roof sheating, and siding is properly graded or replace with approved materials. (10) Provide smoke detectors in access to bedrooms. (11) Skylights must conform to code requirements. (12) After permit issuance, the building must be exposed for inspection to verify that all structural requirements have been met. (13) Install a bathroom complete with tub -or shower, WC, and sink. (14) All plumbing fixtures must be vented and connected to a sewage dis- posal system approved by the Health Department. (15). All electrical wiring must conform to code requirements including the elimination of exposed wiring and open splices, two kitchen appliance circuits, and GFI protection on bathroom and exterior outlets. All wiring must be exposed for inspection. (16) The smaller partial two-story building should be completely demol- ished. If proposed as an agricultural building, the unsafe portion near the creek still should be demolished." (17) Comply with energy requirements in effect at time of original build- ing construction. This inspection by the County of Butte does not act as a guarantee or warranty as to the internal soundness of said house. If you can resolve the sewage disposal problems with the Health Department, it would be in order to submit two.complete-sets of engineered plans to this office, apply for the required permits, and pay the appropriate fees.
