Scotty's
MEMORANDUM
At this time I think we will leave Scotty's lack of a Type 1 hood and a UL300 system, a
"pre-existing, non -conforming" condition. The UL 300 system requires a Type 1 hood and
all must be designed and installed by certified personnel.
Please advise John as soon as possible so he doesn't spend any more money on something I
am not going to require. He needs to know, however, that any remodeling in the kitchen
area will require upgrading his hood and adding the UL300 system.
I highly recommend he purchase a Class K fire extinguisher and mount it on a bracket
within 30 ft. of the kitchen.
KC—thank you for your diligence on this issue and on all the inspections you are doing.
Here are some of the things we talked about with Scotty's that seem to never get done:
Kitchen hood system has been in progress for about 3 to 4 years. I have T 19s that I have done on it for
past two years. This was turned over to FC Fowler a couple years back, prior to his retirement.
Extension cords are always a problem.
..8! Area between the kitchen and out side walk way and water heater area always full of trash.
Exit door from Yacht Club bar stair case overgrown with blackberry bush and has dry rotted wood
.,5! Owner pointed out bar floor had dry rotted wood with holes in it.
B. "Over all the outside is a mess, house keeping issue.
Like we talked about on our phone call; this place has been here for years and John Scott is a nice man who does a lot
for the local community but I don't think we can let this go on. I am hoping that we can find a way to help this local
biasness make this right. However I don't want to be responsible when something goes wrong and all the warning signs
were there for us to prevent it.
