RE: Stockpiling on APN 072-200-047, 6103 Old Olive Highway, Oroville
Dear Mr. Seegert:
It has been brought to our attention that soil stockpiling has been performed on the property located at 6103
Old Olive Highway. Our understanding is that soil being stockpiled is planned to be utilized for a limited ag
building, Building Permit B19-2500, which has been submitted for plan review to Development Services.
Butte County Code (BCC) 13-5 Exemptions, paragraph (k) allows stockpiling of soil for approved projects
as long as proper erosion and sediment controls are maintained at the stockpiled storage site.
The Building Department is in the process of reviewing the plans for the limited ag building. These plans will
need to be modified to include the stockpile as a part of the plan documents. Additionally, proper erosion
and sediment controls will need to be incorporated into the stockpile area.
Please be aware that soil stockpiling in this case is exempt because the project the material is coming from
a permitted project and the project the material will be incorporated into is permitted by zoning and is in the
process of securing permits for the building and site work. Soil cannot be stockpiled for any other future
project(s) planned for your property until any future project(s) have been properly permitted and any
necessary environmental documents approved.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (530) 538-7266, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m.
Sincerely,
Eric Schroth, P.E.
