A RESOI.liTION OF THE BUT"hE COUNTY 6OARU Oh SUPI?RVISORS ACCEPTING FIJND[NG
FOR THE YEAR 2000 US CENSUS COMPLETE COUNT FROGIZr1M
~'~'IIEREAS, pursuant to the Constitution ol`the United States c~1~America, a con~~~lete co~mt ot~all the people
of tl~~e United States of America including Butte County shall be taken every 10 years by the United States Bureau
of the Census; and
WHEREAS, the Ycar- 1990 Census data indicated there was a undercounted pal~~ulation of x,077 persons in
Butte County; and
WIiEREAS, the Ycar 2000 US Census Complete Count Pro~~ram is a grant program with the goal of
enumerating undercounted population groups in Butte County; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Complete Count Coitunittce has been established and a "general plan" has
been prepared 1o reach those persons and population groups ti~~ho arc hard to enumerate during the Year 2000 Census;
and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Complete Count Conunittcc reviewed Butic County's complete count
"general plan" and has awarded the sum ol~ X26,737 to Butte County in order to implen~cnt the plan and support the
outreach activities of the Butte County Complete Count C'ommittce; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County ol~ Butte accepts the ~~r~n~t funding far the Butte
County Complete Count Committee pursuant to the terms and conditions of the contrast pis listed in the attachment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supcrti~isors on this ?2 nd day of February, 2000,
by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Josiassen, Davis and Chair Dolan
