Y _..d .; [p a'...'~z•.. , ... rr+ .~r ~_ WHEREAS, the first exemplification of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree was held in New York on February 22, 1900, when 1,100 eligible Knights had the patriotic degree conferred upon them; and WHEREAS, from that day until now more than 2,200 assemblies representing some 250.000 Sir Knights and their families throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico and other countries have given untiring service towards the building of patriotism in the communities in which they live; and WHEREAS, the loyalty of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree through the past 99 years of its life has been of significant importance towards fostering love of one's country and church in the modern world; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby recognizes and congratulates the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree and their families as they celebrate 100 years of dedication to the principle of patriotism.
