HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-058p^ /~ ©© {{ ~ 4~~J~fT© ~~ ~W~~~V ~~~~~ ,~~~'~',C31~` »t,.1T~E. ~T~A.'F'E A~'' ~ALf1FE~tt~l~ .= RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING FOSTER GRANDPARF,NT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors age 60 and older opportunities to serve as mentors, tutors, and caregivers for children and youth with special needs; and WHEREAS, the national foster Grandparent Program is >_5 years olci, and Butte County's chapter began November 1997, and WHEREAS, there are 72 Butte County foster grandparents serving in 17 community organizations such as schools, boys and girls clubs and a juvenile detention facility:, and WHEREAS, their personal attention helps these young people grow, gain confidence, and become full and productive members of society, and in the process helps to build bridges across generations; and WHEREAS, the Foster Grandparent Program makes a difference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby commends the Foster Grandparent Program for its service in Butte County and extends their best wishes for the or~~anization's continued success in its future endeavors.
