WHEREAS, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the Butte County Fire
Department recognize John Fowlers outstanding years of service and dedication; and
WHEREAS, John Fowler has been a member of the Clipper Mills Volunteer Fire Company since
July 20, ]978; and
WHEREAS, John Fowler has been the Chief of Clipper Mills Volunteer Fire Company since
January 15, 1985;
WHEREAS, John Fowler has maintained his CPR and First Aid Instructor certificate for more than
?0 years, serving as the company's primary training officer; and
WHEREAS, John Fowler has provided expert training and assistance as a member of tl~-e Sierra
Foothill Mine Rescue 's'eam: and
WHEREAS, John Fowler has spent many untold hours preparing fundraisers, construction projects,
and eo-nmunity outreach programs as a member of the Clipper Mills Volunteer Fire Company; and
WHEREAS, John Fowler has built and maintained a positive working relationship with the
cooperative fire agencies of Foothill Fire and the Plumas National Forest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE [T RESOLVED that John Fowler is duly recognized upon his
retirement from the Butte County Fire Department and congratulated f'or his years of hard work and
dedication to Clipper Mills volunteers and the citizens of Butte County,
PASSEll AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 30°i day of~May 2000 by
the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Josiassen, Davis and Chair Dolan
NOES: None
