HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-079~~~~~t~~r~y~. •~ i a~ x~ ^ r ' ~~ r ~. ry~~ ((~~ k ~ `rtrF E ~ s Y ~ ~ b ~~ . ~` -, ~~.~ ~-~ , 4~ _ +,a ~c'SOltif1o11 ~0. 00-79 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT FOR COON"fY OF BUTTE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001 .AS REQUIRED BY SEC"f1ON 7910, DIVISION 9 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE WHEREAS, Article XIII-B of the California Constitution provides that local governments must establish annual appropriation limits pursuant to said Article, and; WHEREAS, Section '7910, Division 9, of the Government Code, provides that the governing body of each local jurisdiction shall, by resolution, establish its appropriations limit for the following year at a regularly scheduled meeting, and; WHEREAS, the Auditor-Controller has calculated the Butte County appropriations limit for fiscal year 2000-2001 to be $86,765,835. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriations limit for Butte County is established to be 586,765,835 for fiscal year 2000-2001, and; FURTHER, that said appropriations limit, and the determination thereof are in compliance with Article XIII-B of the California Constitution. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, County of Butte, State of California, this 13"' day of June, 2000. Price Factor: Article XIII B specifies that local jurisdictions select their cost of living factor to compute their appropriation limit by a vote of the governing body_ Local jurisdictions may select either the percentage change in California per capita personal income or the percentage change in the local assessment roll due to the addition of local non-residential new construction. Since the percentage change in the assessment rolls due to new construction is not available, we have used the CPCP1 for this calculation. The percentage change to be used in setting up the 2000-2001 limit as provided by the Department of Finance is: California per capita personal income: 4.91 B. Population Percentage Change: The attached city and county population percentage changes were prepared pursuant to Section 2227 of the Revenue and Taxation Code and are calculated as of January 1.
