RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF GENE SMITH
WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to Gene Smith for his 32 years of dedicated
service to the Butte County Sheriff s Office; and
WHEREAS, Uerre Smith joined the Butte County Sheriff s Ottice on April 30, 1968 as a
Reserve Deputy Sheriff; and
WHEREAS, Gene St~aith se-•ved in patrol, investigations, narcotics and high level special
investigations; and
WHEREAS, Gene Smith took a great interest in serving the citizens of Butte Co~n~ty,
particularly the citizens in the Cohasset area; and
WHEREAS, Gene Srraith served under five Butte County Sheriff-Coroners; and
WHEREAS, after faithful service, Gene Smith retired from the Butte County Sheriff s Office on
March 5, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, ICE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf
and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, expresses its deep appreciation for the selfless
dedication and devotion given by Iiese~-ve I?e~~zrty Gene Smith during his 32-year law enforcement
career with the Butte County Sheriff s Office.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 27`x' day of June
2000 by the following vote:
