RESOLUTION IN HONOR OF THE TWENTIETH ANNIVF.,RSARY OF THF:
AREA AGENCY ON AGING FOR PLANNING AND SERVICE AREA 3
WHEREAS, the Area Agency on Aging for Planning and Service Area 3 (PSA 3) was
established in 1980 to serve senior citizens in the Counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Plumas, and
Tehama: and
WHEREAS, Planning and Service Area 3 is home to approximately 71.000 senior citizens,
man}~ of whom depend on the services provided b_y the Area ,Agency on Aging for PSA 3; and
WHEREAS, the Area Agency on Aging for PSA 3 has provided services directly to the senior
citizens of the Counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Plumas, and Tehama for the last 20 years; and
WHEREAS, the Area Agency on Aging for PSA 3 has provided grant funds to local agencies
for the last 20 years to enable them to provide services to senior citizens in the Counties of Butte,
Colusa, Glenn, Plumas, and Tehama; and
WHEREAS, the Area Agency on Aging for PSA 3 has advocated on behalf of the seniors in the
Counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Plumas, and Tehama for the last 20 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby
issues this proclamation to honor the 20`" anniversary of the Area Agency on Aging for PSA 3. in
support and recognition of the critical role of the Area Agency on Aging during the last 20 years in
helping the senior citizens of the Counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Plumas, and Tehama to live their
lives with dignity, and to maintain their independence as long as possible.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte Board of Supervisors this 25`f' day of July 2000 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Josiassen, Davis and Chair Dolan
