WHEREAS, the prosperity and well-being of this community is dependent upon cooperation
and understanding between the two great elements of our societyfarmers and urban people; and
WHEREAS, the complexities of their individual problems and the divergence of their
activities have lead to a lack of infar-nation and understanding; and
WHEREAS, this lack of information and understanding is being eliminated as each group
attempts to inform and understand the other in order that our American way of life can endure; and
WHEREAS, the Farm City Celebration is celebrating its 20`~ Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, the Farm City Celebration Committee is sponsoring many activities. including
a Farmer's Market, a Dog Days of Fall SK Walk/Run, F.F.A. Career Breakfast, a Bus Tour, a Kid's
Day at the Farm, a Day with Agriculture far teachers, and a Harvest Dance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf, and on
behalf of the citizens of the County of Butte, designates the period of October 26 through
November l 8, 2000, as "`FARM-CITY CELEBRATION."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board calls upon the citizens of this County to
participate in the joint visits, and civic and social events, attendant to a successful FARM-CITY
CELEBRATION in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 10`x' day of
October 2000 by the fo]lowing vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Josiassen, Davis and Chair Dolan
