HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-145WHEREAS, Butte County receives over 5,000 allegations of child abuse and neglect annually and
over six hundred children are in out of home placement in Butte County in any one month; and
WHEREAS, in support of the Frank Wafters Children's Trust Fund, a fund made up entirely of
donations from the commmunity, that allows Butte County citizens to make tax deductible donations, to help
prevent child abuse and neglect, when they pay their property taxes; and
WHEREAS, through the continued commitment to provide media coverage regarding-the Frank
Watters Children's Trust Fund by providing and sponsoring''/2 page advertisements in local newspaper; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the outstanding efforts of The Chico
Enterprise Record; and
WHEREAS, The Chico Enterprise Record has increased the awareness of the community regarding
the importance of contributions to the Frank Watters Fund to provide much needed services to children at risk
of abuse or neglect; and
NOW, THERF,FORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors, on its own
behalf, and on behalf of the residents of Butte County wishes to send heartfelt thanks and appreciation to The
Chico Enterprise Record for their continuing support of Butte Countys efforts to prevent child ab~-se and
neglect.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this St}~ day of December
2000 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Davis and Chair Dolan
