HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-147""~ ;~ ' - ~a ~. ~„ F ,~ ~ ~ ;. ~: ~' ~:x WHEREAS, Butte County receives over 5,000 allegations of child abuse and neglect annually and aver six hundred children are in out of home placement in Butte County in any one month; and WHEREAS, in support of the Frank Watters Children's Trust Fund, a fund trade up entirely of donations from the community, that allows Butte County citizens to make tax deductible donations, to help prevent child abuse and neglect, when they pay their property taxes; and WHEREAS, through the continued commitment to provide media coverage regarding the Frank Watters Children's Trust Fund by providing access to televised community programming; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the outstanding efforts of KNVN; and WHEREAS, KNVN has increased the awareness of the community regarding the impartance of contributions to the Frank Watters Fund to provide much needed services to children at risk of abuse or neglect; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of Butte County wishes to send heartfelt thanks and appreciation to KNVN for their continuing support of Butte County's efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this Sth day of December 2000 by the fallowing vote: AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Davis and Chair Dolan NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Josiassen NOT VOTING: None ATTEST: JOHN S.
