BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
TO ACCEPT ADDITIONAL FUNDS
FROM
STATE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES AND DEVELOPMENT
FOR THE MENTOR PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Butte County Department of Behavioral Health Community Services
Division has been awarded an additional $33,750.00 to extend the current mentor
contract for one more program year; and
WHEREAS, the Program Goal is to train and match a minimum of 19 mentors to
provide constant, as needed support, guidance, and concrete help to the youth who are
"at-risk" and has an increased danger of becoming a teen parent, school dropout, gang
member or user of alcohol and drugs, through the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Mentor
Contract; and
WHEREAS, the term of the grant is October 1, 1998 through September 30,
2001 and the amount of funds awarded for the contract period will now be $131,250.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Department of
Behavioral Health has authorization to accept grant funds to continue its ongoing Mentor
Program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this

AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Davis and Chair Dolan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor
NOT VOTING: None
