HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-151WHEREAS, the Juvenile Crime Enforcement and Accountability Challenge Grant
Program was enacted to reduce the rate ofjuvenile crime in California; and
WHEREAS, grants shall be provided to counties that establish multi-agency juvenile
justice coordinating councils to develop and implement comprehensive strategies for preventing
and effectively responding to juvenile crime; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors established the Butte County Juvenile Justice
Coordinating Council by Resolution No. 96-126 adopted November 26, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors amended and expanded the Butte County Juvenile
Justice Coordinating Council by Resolution No. 97-30 adopted March 11, 1997 in order to be
eligible to receive such grants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the fisting of council members as set
forth by Resolutions 96-12( and 97-3~ be replaced fully and completely by the list of council
members included in this resolution as follows:
Chair shall be the Chief Probation Officer
"The District Attorney or hislher designee
The Public Defender Executive Director or hislher designee
The Sheriff or his/her designee
Two Board of Supervisors members or their designees
The Director of Welfare Services ar hislher designee
The Director of Behavioral Health or his/her designee
The Chief Executive or Administrative Officer of the Employee Assistance Program or
his/her designee
The City of Chico Chief of Police or his/her designee
The City of Gridley Chief of Police or his/her designee
The City of Oroville Chief of Police or his/her designee
The Town of Paradise Chief of Police or hislher designee
"The Superintendent of the County Office of Education or his/her designee
The Chief Executive or Administrative Officer of the Boys and Girls Club or hist'her
designee
RESOLUTION RE-ORGANIZING THF. JUVENILE JUSTICF. COORDINATING
COUNCIL AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF PROBATION OFFICER TO APPLY
FOR FUNDING AND ADMINISTER CONTRACTS UNDER THE SCHIFF-CARDF.NAS
CRIME PREVENTION ACT OF 2000
The Chief Executive or administrative Officer of Catalyst or hislher designee
The Chief Executive ar Administrative Officer of the North Valley Catholic Social
Services or his/her designee
The Chief Executive or Administrative Officer of the Parent Education Network or
his/her designee
The Superintendent of the Chico Unified School District or his/her designee
Two (2) appointees from the community at-large; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that agency representatives shall be provided workers
compensation and liability insurance by the agency they represent; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chief Probation Officer is authorized to sign
Butte County's applications far state funding as well as related contracts, amendments, or
extensions with the State of California subject to review by the Council and the Board of
Supervisors; and
That the County will adhere to the requirements of the Board of Corrections and all
conditions specified in the grant contract with the State of California in the expenditure of state
funds received pursuant to said application; and
That all final planning products will be developed and provided to the Board of
Corrections no later than May l , 2001.

December 2000 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Davis and Chair Dolan
NOES: None
