WHEREAS, Richard Lewis, Lead Road Maintenance Worker for the Department of Public
Works, announced his retirement as of November 12, 2000; and
WHEREAS, Richard Lewis began his career with the County of Butte in 1965, as a Laborer. in
the Department of Public Works.. advancing within the Department, to become a Lead Road Maintenance
Worker, his present position; and
WHEREAS, Richard Lewis worked as a laborer, dump truck operator, equipment operator, road
maintenance worker, and lead road maintenance worker in the Public Works Department for many years:
and
WHEREAS, Richard Lewis has earned the respect of fellow employees, engineers, surveyors,
contractors, and others involved in Public Works activities in Butte County, and has diligently served the
residents of the County of Butte for approximately thirty-five (35) years with extraordinary distinction
and leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of`
the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Richard Lewis sincere appreciation for his many
years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and
further wish him well on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, this 19`x' day of December 2000, by the following vote:
AYES: supervisors Beeler, Houx, Josiassen, Davis and Chair Dolan
