HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-021WHEREAS, the Biggs Unified School District and Butte County operate the swimming pool
located on the Biggs High School campus; and
WHEREAS, this swimming pool has been known as the Biggs Swimming Pool; and
WHEREAS, the Biggs Swimming Pool is funded by the community through County Service
Area 31; and
WHEREAS, the Biggs Swimming Pool has been managed by the same person since its
beginning in 1969; and
WHEREAS, that person is LaVaughn Schohr, who has also conducted swimming lessons for
the community every summer since the openi-1g of the pool; and
WHEREAS, in such capacity the said LaVaughn Schohr has contributed to the lives of
hundreds of children; has demonstrated excellence; has demonstrated talent, enthusiasm and devotion
to children; and has commanded a high degree of love and respect from those students.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
supports the renaming of the Biggs Swimming Pool as "Schohr's Pool", in honor of LaVaughn
Schohr for her years of dedicated service to the community of Biggs.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 27`" day of March
2001 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi and Chair Josiassen
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
