RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
WHEREAS, the County of Butte desires to continue a certain project
designated The Butte County Victim/Witness Center as the provider of major and
comprehensive victim witness services in Butte County; and
WHEREAS, the California Victim Compensatian and Government Claims
Board has selected the Butte County Victim Assistance Center to receive "Joint
Powers" monies for the purpose of verification of victim claims, and
WHEREAS, THE California Victim Compensation and Government
Claims Baard has allocated $394,836.00 for fiscal years 2001 through 2004 for
the Butte County Victim Assistance Center for this specific task,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief Probation Officer
is authorized, on its behalf to sign the attached JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
with the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board to
receive monies to operate a Victim Assistance Center and is further authorized
to sign for the purposes of making any extension ar amendment thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the state funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant local funds that would in the absence of the
California Victim Assistance Program be made available to support the
assistance of victims of crime.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 27th
day of March 2001 by the following vote:
AYES: supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi and Chair Josiassen
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
