HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-029WHEREAS, The Butte County Department of Social Welfare, as the lead agency for the Butte County
Crisis Intervention Task Force, successfully responded to a California Department of Aging grant proposal for a
Long-Term Innovative Grant and has been awarded $100,000 to fund the Butte County Elder Services Planning
Project. The Director of the Department of Social Welfare requests that the Board accept the grant; and
WHEREAS, Butte County Department of Social Welfare has approval to enter into an Agreement with the
California Department of Aging. The term of the Agreement shall be from February 1, 2001 through June 30,
2002; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Social Welfare applied for the grant as the result of identifying the need
for broader coordination of services for seniors and dependant adults of Butte County. This grant will allow the
department to contract with ah public service agency to identify existing senior service programs and evaluate
their effectiveness in the community and to develop a strategic plan and provide on going direction for the
development of senior services; and
WHEREAS, Innovative Health Care Services (IHCS), dba the Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health
Care has agreed to enter into an Agreement with Butte County Department of Social Welfare to administer the
funds awarded Butte County to implement the planning process;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED as follows:
That the Butte County Board of Supervisors authorizes the Department of Social Welfare to enter into an
Agreement and accepts the grant award from the California Department of Aging to fund the Butte County Elder
Services Planning Project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27`h day of March 2001, by the following vote:
