HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-043WHEREAS, in the year 2000, the citizens of Butte County suffered more than 300 wildland fires, and WHEREAS, one civilian life was lost and many firefighters were injured while battling these blazes; and WHEREAS, over X9,000,000 dollars in damage was incurred to private property and natural resources; and WHEREAS, nearly 3,000 acres of timber, brush and grass on private lands was destroyed; and WHEREAS, a "Wildfire Awareness Week" campaign will be used to educate the public about the need for planning and fire prevention far fire season 2001. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the week of Sunday, May 13'~ to Saturday, May 19`x, 2001 as "Wildfire Awareness Week" in conjunction with the declaration by the Governor of the State of California. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 24'x' day of April 2001 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi and Chair Josiassen NOES: None NOT PRESENT: None NOT VOTING: None ,~ `~~ ~~• ~ CURT JOSIASSEN.
